1. NAME OF PROGRAM: Voter Registration Program
2. PURPOSE OF PROGRAM: This program seeks to help North Carolina registration officials reach the 1.5 million unregistered eligible voters in the state by expanding the number of places where citizens can register to vote to include public assistance agencies, public agencies serving those with disabilities and public agencies offering employment services.
3. APPLICATION PROCEDURES: The application procedures include:
- Individuals visiting public agencies for services will be offered the opportunity to register to vote during the original applications for service or assistance and with each re-certification, renewal or change of address.
- Public Assistance Agencies:
- Aid to Families with Dependent Children
- Women, Infants and Children
- Food Stamps
- Medicaid

- Designated agency staff will offer the voter registration opportunity and necessary form, but will not routinely provide assistance unless requested to do so.
