The Child Support Office is a division of the Cabarrus County Department of Social Services. It is sometimes referred to as the IV-D program

The Child Support Agency can assist in locating non-custodial parents, establishing paternity for children born out of wedlock, establishing a child support order, collecting child support payments, and enforcing child support obligations. Depending on applicant's income, there is either a $10.00 or $25.00 application fee for these services. There is no fee if the custodial parent receives public assistance or formerly received assistance in the form of AFDC, Work First Payments or Medicaid.
