1. NAME OF PROGRAM: General Assistance

2. PURPOSE OF PROGRAM: To provide individuals with financial assistance who don’t qualify for any other emergency programs or whose needs cannot be met through other resources.

3. APPLICATION PROCEDURES: Applications are taken in the Crisis Unit at the Department of Social Services.

4. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Need for service.
  2. Must be income eligible.
  3. Financial Assistance must help to alleviate problem or crisis situation.

5. OTHER PROGRAM DETAILS: The maximum amount a client can receive through General Assistance is $100.00.

6. DATE OF INFORMATION: May 1, 2001
